Class trips

These are the four off-campus trips for this class. The SMC coach picks us up by the guard gate and leaves PROMPTLY at 9:20 am, whether we have everyone on the bus or not. Our schedule is too tight to allow for a late start, and my cell phone coverage is spotty on campus, so don’t be late.

JANUARY 08, 2015. Pickup at 9:15 am at St. Mary’s guard shack. Drive to Half Moon Bay for a walking tour, beach romp and lunch at Cameron’s Pub. Pickup at 2 pm for return to St. Mary’s by 3 pm.

JANUARY 12, 2015.  Pickup at St. Mary’s guard shack at 9:15 am. Leave promptly at 9:20. Arrive at 10:15 at Sonoma Visitors Bureau (453 1st st. east) for welcome talk and press packets then walk to the Sonoma Mission for a 10:30 self-guided tour. After the Mission visit, you have time to explore Sonoma Square on your own, but MUST be on the bus at noon. At NOON the bus leaves for a tour, lunch and private wine tasting at Cline Cellars  (the site of the original Sonoma Mission). Return to St. Mary’s by 3 pm.

JANUARY 22, 2015. Pickup at St. Mary’s guard shack at 9:15 am. Drive to Ride The Ducks – San Francisco Duck Tours 2766 Taylor Street (corner of Jefferson & Taylor) at Fisherman’s Wharf. Bring money for clam chowder if you’d like – you’ll have an hour to explore Fisherman’s Wharf before tour. Pickup at Duck Tours at 12:15 pm to return to St. Marys by 1 pm.

JANUARY 26, 2015. Pickup at 9:15 am at St. Mary’s guard shack for a  Llama-trekking expedition in Redwood Regional Park. Wear comfortable shoes and dress in layers. Pickup at 12:15 pm for return to St. Mary’s by 1 pm.
