Sonoma: A town for the ages

When the padres in Sonoma needed wine for communion, what did they do? They toiled in the soil until an abundance of grapes laced the land near the mission. The vineyards were the first in Sonoma Valley and date back to 1825. Today, the rich, rolling land is blessed with more vines than people, and is known as one of California’s most beloved wine-tasting destinations.

Students from St. Mary’s College in Moraga took a trip to Sonoma, recently,  for a look at what travel writers see when they visit.
